We utilize advanced computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing modeling and finite element analysis (FEA) analytical simulation tools to optimize performance, functionality, manufacturability, and cost. Kratos is on the cutting-edge of industry and Department of Defense requirements, integrating model-based definition (MBD), product lifecycle management (PLM), and conventional designs into comprehensive technical data packages.

Complete Turbomachinery Analytical Support

Kratos brings to bear a full suite of thermal and structural analyses to support new product design, upgrades of existing equipment, and field investigations. At the component level, airfoil cooling design, fluid flow, and metal temperature predictions, along with steady and dynamic stress analyses, support evaluations of part durability, such as creep capability, oxidation/erosion resistance, and fatigue/fracture life. System-level evaluations include secondary air system analysis, whole engine modeling (steady state and transient), thermal management systems, and rotordynamics. Placement and pre-test predictions for various sensor types (thermocouples, strain gages, etc.) are routinely made and validated by in-house flow and vibration laboratory testing.
