Kratos & GE Aerospace Powering Today’s Munitions

Kratos and GE Aerospace have teamed to bring the next generation of affordable, high-performance cruise missile engines to the fight. Combining Kratos’ culture of affordability with GE Aerospace’s proven track record for high-rate production, the team is developing the Advanced Strike family of engines. Focused on innovation and affordability, the family of engines is designed to power the next generation of cruise missiles and collaborative combat-type aircraft.

Kratos and the Turbine Engine Division of AFRL Complete Successful Engine Test Campaign

The ground test engine demonstrated an innovative engine architecture and critical technologies that are expected to provide future systems increased range, increased thrust, decreased life-cycle cost, and increased electrical power. A flight-relevant engine which utilizes the technology is being jointly developed with GE Aerospace for production. The engine, designated the GEK800, is designed for expendable cruise missiles and reusable unmanned applications.
