MBRAT
The Maintenance Blended Reconfigurable Aviation Trainer
The Maintenance Blended Reconfigurable Aviation Trainer (MBRAT) is a revolutionary concept in part-task trainers.
The MBRAT uses a blend of Computer Based Training (CBT) and replicated physical controls. The combination provides the best of both worlds: an immersive physical, visual and tactile environment that is far more realistic than computer-based training (CBT), yet can be delivered at a fraction of the cost and manufacturing time of traditional simulation devices.
Students sit within a physical platform emulator that which realistically reflects a rotor craft’s instrument panel consoles and overheads. Trainers can shift from course to course─ for example from electrical to avionics training curriculums ─ simply by switching software. To change from one platform to another, say a Black Hawk to a Chinook, only minor hardware changes are required to accurately reflect the cockpit differences.
